A fabulous full day trip from Corfu to the Blue Lagoon, Sivota and the giant sea caves at Mourtos. This is a relaxing day that includes swimming, sightseeing, exploring.
Setting off from Corfu the boat takes us to Mourtos and the ‘Papanikolis Cave’. As the boat passes by the amazing rock formations you will hear the story of how and why the Greek Naval submarine hid underneath the lighthouse during the Second World War.
The Blue Lagoon is breathtaking. The boat will stop for an hour so that you swim in the turquoise water or just enjoy this stunning view.
Once everyone is back on board, the boat will take a leisurely cruise around the small islands to the that over the centuries have been the site of many naval battles. Relics from the vessels that lie on the sea bed are often found by divers today.
The cruise continues through the small islets, stopping at Mourtemeno and the pretty Bella Vraka Beach for a swim.
The final stop of the day is Sivota Village on the Mainland of Greece. Now it is a quaint fishing village but in 433BC this was the site of a sea battle between the Corinthians and the Corcyraeans. At that time it was the largest battle fought between Greek states and was the catalyst to the Peloponnesian War (431 – 405). You will have some time to explore or get a coffee and ice cream before heading back to Corfu.
