The Greek National Anniversary and a major religious holiday with military parades in the larger towns and cities. The Procession and festivals to com memorate the intervention of St. Spyridon during the Turkish invasion in 1716 when a terrible storm broke out as the invading force tried to besiege Corfu, causing their retreat.
